Biotin For Hair, Nails and Skin!


Yesterday I was talking to you about argan oil for beautiful hair, skin and nails. Today I want to talk about taking care of your hair, skin and nails from within. Until a few weeks ago I was taking a multivitamin supplement which contained biotin and today I am going to share my experience with you!

I had this one already for a while and when I saw it was about to expire, I decided to start using it daily. You are supposed to take two a day and that is what I did.

I was using my Sensationail kit for a while and I peeled off the polish instead of soaking it in acetone (bad thing to do, I know..) and my nails became very thin at the ends. I started using this very supplement daily and I could feel my nails getting stronger. Not at the ends, those couldn't be saved anymore, but the nail that grew out felt stronger than it usually was.

I had okay skin before I started using this supplement. I didn't get super clear skin, but it didn't get any worse either. I did have the feeling that my skin improved, but I only used it for about 4 weeks. For the maximum effect I suppose you have to use it for a longer time. I didn't use it for my skin, I mostly wanted stronger nails and healthier hair.

As for my hair, I don't think I used it long enough for shiny and strong hair, I think it only works for hair that grows out of your scalp during this supplement 'treatment'. But I did have the feeling that my hair (and nails) grew a bit faster than it normally would have. However, to see if it really has positive effects on your hair, you'll have to take it for a longer period of time, considering the fact that your hair doesn't grow that fast and it takes longer to see results.

I think these supplements are doing it's job and that it will make your hair healthier in the long run. It helps your nails and hair grow faster and also stronger (I believe) and when I run out of vitamin supplements I Wil repurchase some sort of supplement containing biotin.

My last point: vitamin supplements aren't made to replace your food intake, it's more of additive to your meal than replacement. To eat healthy, you need to have a balanced diet, with or without supplements.
