Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Pore-Reducing Toner

Hi everyone! Toning my face is one of my favorite steps in my skincare routine. It's refreshing, it gives me that little bit of extra moisture, it helps my other products sink into my skin.. I think using toner is an essential step in your skincare routine and I also think everyone should at least try it! I have been using 'simple' toners all my life. They were from the drugstore, one toner that didn't came from the drugstore was my Lush Tea Tree Water. In my eyes toners refresh your face and don't do really much for your skin but helping the rest of your skincare products sink into your skin better so you're left with softer, better moisturized skin if you use toner.

A while ago I realized I only used simple toners and that I never tried out a more expensive toner, because, in my eyes, what extra can a toner do, right? But I wanted to give it a try, so I ordered Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Pore-Reducing Toner, because I noticed that my pores were getting more visible. So... does this toner do anything? Or is it like any other toner?

After I finished my Lush Tea Tree Toner, I finally could try out this baby! The bottle contains 190 ml, which is a good amount. There's barely a smell to it and the consistency is thicker than water.

What does Paula say about this toner?

Why is it different?
SKIN BALANCING Pore-Reducing Toner helps balance skin with antioxidants and hydrating ceramides, making oily areas less noticeable and skin more even, smooth, moisturized, and protected. It is an essential step in any skincare routine to renew skin after cleansing. Can also help remove the last traces of makeup.
What does it do?
Antioxidants, soothing plant extracts and niacinamide help tone down oily skin and minimize pore size. Its exceptionally lightweight liquid formula feels weightless on skin but still provides high-quality hydration to diminish dry flaky areas of skin.
How to use
After cleansing, apply toner to a cotton pad and gently stroke over face and neck. Do not rinse. Follow with the rest of your morning or evening skincare routine. For daytime, finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen rated SPF 30 or greater.
That sounds very promising, doesn't it? I use this every morning and night after cleansing. After I cleansed my face, I spritz it on my face until there's enough on my face to spread over the surface of my face. I don't put it on a cotton pad first, but I pour it in a spray bottle.

I have been using this toner for two weeks now and I have to say that I like it very much! After only a few days I could feel that my skin was hydrated better than before. I know that you should use it for about an entire month first, because the skin on your face is renewed in one month, but after only two weeks I can already see and feel results.

After about a week I was pretty sure that the pores on my cheeks were less deep: I haven't changed anything about my skincare routine, only the toner, and I haven't used any face masks in the meantime. After applying the toner I apply my moisturizer, sometimes serum first (but I don't really like the serum I am using at the moment) and when I apply the moisturizer I can feel that my skin is softer and smoother than it was before.

I'd say the toner does what it promises and I am taking my opinion about toner doing not much back 100%. I really would like to try out the entire line to see how all the products work for me!
